About the Rockabilly Doghouse
Our Mission

We want to give all dogs a chance to be comfortable with the grooming experience. We know getting groomed can be stressful for dogs especially in busy crowded shops. We offer appointment only grooming where we can give your pup a calm environment and the attention it deserves.​

We also want to offer grooming to the more challenging pups. It is all too common to be turned away because your dog has grown old or has had some history of behavior difficulties. We want to give your pups a chance.
MEET OUR STAFF
JennaGail- Groomer
My name is JennaGail Benitez. I was born and raised in central West Virginia. I met my Californian husband, I moved to California with the promise that someday we would return to my beloved mountains. . I graduated from San Diego Grooming Academy in August 2017. I was a groomer in La Jolla California for over 5 years. My husband and I eventually decided to open our own shop, Punk Puppy Grooming. After two years we had many great customers and made so many friends, but we decided it was time to move back to the Appalachians. We chose to move to Coeburn in Wise County Virginia. So we opened Rockabilly Doghouse here.
Jonathan- Bather
Jonathan Benitez was born in Southern California. He helped fulfill JennaGails dream of having her own shop, becoming partners in the business. He is now the bather for our shop here is Coeburn Virginia, Rockabilly Doghouse.
DOGS ON STAFF
Bunny- Emotional Support For Stressed Pups
Bunny has a soothing presence. This effects both dogs and people. She often comes out to greet dogs with me to make them feel more comfortable coming inside. If a dog is nervous on the table I will put Bunny on the table with them to soothe them. This often works, so we are grateful to have such a talented little pup.
Bunny has a weak spot for puppies mothering them and playing with them more than other dogs.
GUNTHER- Playmate
Gunther is big, young, and rambunctious. While he isn't the best match for all dogs, he is a great playmate with larger dogs Bunny can not handle. When we have a large hyper dog we will let them run and play with Gunther, for a few minutes, to get some of their energy out. This allows them to be ready to be groomed, so that they aren't dancing on the table.
OUR STORY
We started our shop in our home in Lakeside, CA. I had groomed in bustling busy shops in La Jolla CA for several years and decided it was time to do things differently. I wanted to have a shop that offered flexibility and patience, while also offering a calm comfortable environment for dogs to be groomed. So I opened Punk Puppy Grooming. I had a good reputation and many very loyal clients. However, my husband and I decided it was time to move out of California. I grew up in the Appalachian mountains of West Virginia. I wanted to go home. Instead of WV my husband and I fell in love with the little town of Coeburn VA, and frankly all of Wise County. We decided to open Rockabilly Doghouse here with the same mission as our old shop.
